All internships offer the opportunity for school credit. It is the responsibility of each student to present and initiate any internship related school-credit responsibilities that the Business Development will need to fulfill- in a timely manner.
All Interns who finish their required program of work will be recognized by the Business Development Staff. This includes recognition on LinkedIn, and a recommendation on LinkedIn. The opportunity to use Business Development Staff members as a resume reference, and a letter of recommendation if needed. Main Street Newnan offers internships on a volunteer basis, we do not offer paid internships.

The following internships are available:
HISTORIC PRESERVATION INTERNSHIP
Preparing a historic resource log for Downtown Newnan (historic maps, photos, articles, historic building inventory, historic resource inventory, etc.).
Preparing an interactive Historic Preservation Month program for Main Street to utilize throughout Historic Preservation Month.
Qualifications: Graduate or undergraduate students of Historic Preservation, History, Public History, or like major. Must be able to work independently and be mindful of deadlines. Excellent skills in writing and grammar as well as Microsoft Office. Detail-oriented, energetic personality.
COMMUNICATIONS /PR INTERNSHIP
Responsibilities include writing press materials and newsletter articles, media relations, building and maintaining media lists, organizing news clips and office files, and other assorted communications projects.
Qualifications: Public relations and journalism majors preferred. Excellent skills in writing and grammar as well as Microsoft Office. Detail-oriented, energetic personality.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INTERNSHIP
Assist with the administrative task associated with the Business Development Department
Qualifications: Students who are currently studying Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, or Economics. Excellent skills in writing and grammar as well as Microsoft Office. Detail-oriented, energetic personality.
SPECIAL EVENTS INTERNSHIP
Assist in planning, scheduling, monitoring and facilitating special events.
Qualifications: Excellent skills in communication, organization and event/public programming planning.
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM INTERNSHIP
Help recruit, coordinate, train, and schedule volunteers to serve Downtown Newnan.
Qualifications: Must be pleasant, flexible, and a self-motivated worker and enrolled in an academic institution.
